Vegas Baby {RAGNAR}

After running Del Sol this year we decided it was a must to try Vegas again to get the Dueces Wild medal. It was super fun as any Ragnar usually is. We had a hard time keeping our van together so ended up with a few last minute replacements that we were happy have!
Safety briefing
4 of the 6 at the start line
Keri Sarah Alesha and Rhiannon
Cute Keri made tattoos for us to remember our angels! We were super excited and putting them on while Jess was running leg one. We cracked up for a good 10 minutes when we realized she had done the P backwards! I told her it was the thought that counted. :)

My first leg was down the mtn from Las Vegas ski and snowboard resort. It was just under 5 miles. I started running just after 9:30. The temperature was great and the run was good. I had forgotten to charge my watch so I have no clue on my pace. I did however feel like my legs wanted to take me quite a bit faster than my cardio could handle. Once again my inability to train as hard as I normally do. (darn mastitis) {which as a side note as we were driving down to Vegas I realized I forgot my pump. No time as good as now to stop nursing I guess huh?}

After our first legs we had quite a good break so we got some real food, shopped at trader joes, changed and rested. It was pretty great. It gets dark way early there so my next leg was in total darkness but probably only like 6 pm. It was an awesome run! I wore Sarah's watch cause I still hadn't charged mine. It was one of those awesome runs where  you are just passing people right and left and feeling awesome. Seriously awesome. I think I didn't pass one person on my first leg but on this one I made up for it passing close to 40 people. 6.67 miles 55 minutes 8:43 pace
We headed over to Keri's sisters house to shower and sleep for a couple hours. It was awesome. Her sister was so nice and set up beds for all of us. A shower felt great especially in my non pumping situation.
We started about 4 in the morning for our last set of legs. I think I was about 6 am because it was starting to get light when I ran. My last leg was much different than I expected. I knew the first few miles were up hill but didn't realize the next 4 were going to be a series of HUGE rollers. Like running up and down the hill in front of the Oquirrh Mountain temple. Luckily I got a second wind and was rocking them. I refused to walk when everyone else was. I ended up passing about 30 people. It was super awesome.6.99 miles 59:47 8:34/mile

 I am all done!!!!

When we all finished up we headed for some food then back to Keri's sisters for another shower and some relaxation. The finish line this year was 100 times better than last time. It was at a hotel, pool side, exactly what it should be for Vegas!!!

Another Ragnar in the books! Way to Go team Rag N Roll!!!

Fall Happenings

*Brigs got glasses* (sept)
In June at Brigs kindergarten check up he didn't pass his eye exam. Neither Phil or I had glasses as a kid so our doctor was like "It's probably nothing but I would take him in just to be sure." I wasn't able to get him in for quite some time. When I took him in I thought "Oh this will be short and painless, we'll just realize he wasn't cooperating." Twas not so. It was long and painful! haha
We found out Brigs has an Amblyopia (lazy eye) Luckily his eye alignment is still good but we def needed to work on strengthening that eye. His "bad" eye, as he now calls it, was 20/400 and his good eye was 20/25. With his new glasses he would still only see 20/200 in that eye. They want us to come back in 3 months to check it again where we may have to start patching his good eye a couple hours a day to help his bad eye continue to get stronger. I was so nervous for him to have glasses. He is my strong willed child so I expected it to be quite the fight but it wasn't at all! SO GRATEFUL! The second day he had them I was about to send him out the door to school and he said "Mom! My glasses!"
{update 12/10 his eye is now at 20/40 with his glasses on and 20/20 in his good eye, still no patch yet! Things are going very well!}

*Cousin time!!!*
We have 4 babies in 6 months on the Olsen side. This night we were just missing Harper.

*Katy Perry Concert*
I wont even lie and act lie she isn't one of my favorite people. I seriously love her and I love her concert! We had such a fun girls night with Katy my lady!

*Scrapaway* (oct)
Did one of my favorite things as usual, Scrapaway. This year I tried to do a lot of blogging. Gotta find some time to keep up to date!

*Mustache day at school*
 *Koen's Appliace*
Thumb sucking wasn't seeming to go anywhere after many attempts. We decided the appliance was our last option. We shall see if it works!

*Scouts at the fire station*
I recently was called to be Koen's den leader. One of my first times was to the fire station.

Halloween TOWN!

Halloween is always a busy but favorite time of year. This year was no exception! Fall is so fun!

*Halloween bunco*

*Shoops Party*
Going to the Shoops awesome Halloween party is always a fun start to the month. Sets the kids up with enough treats to make it til Halloween. ;)

 *Pumpkin picking at our favorite patch with our favorite friends*

*Gardner Village Witch Hunt with Grandma, Kirst and Lydia*

 *Witches Bunco at Stacie's*
hanging loose for Steve (his favorite sign)
*Howloween Half Marathon with Britton*
By far my slowest half yet with a time of 2:08:50. My training had been less than stellar with 2 mastitis run during the 4 weeks before! Oh well, we had a fun time! We dressed as aerobics girls and the whole run was dark which was nice for a change!

 *Stacie's Halloween Party*
Stacie throws the best parties! Good food, and games for days!

*Olsen Party*
So fun to see all the Olsen's! And especially Grandma!
 *Pumpkin carving*
Brigs wanted to recreate the one he colored at school, I think we did pretty good! We also had a tiny one for My and a white pumpkin with a P as usual for Pierce.

 *Festive attire*

*Halloween Day*
Koen's was a last minute costume as he didn't want to be 1 of the 400 costumes we have. It turned out fun though. After school we went with Britton to her work for trick or treating. My stayed with Grandma and Cy.

That night we headed to Grandma's to trick or treat with our cousins(the Crayons!) and stopped by uncle Ky's for hot cocoa and movies! Such a fun night!
