Busy week!

Wow we had a lot going on this past week! We had the missionaries over for dinner twice, I planned playgroup and girls night, had two doctors appts and worked in the family history! And that was all during the week! When the weekend came it didn't slow down there either. Friday we ate dinner at some friends house, thanks Bob and Lizzie! So fun, and SO good! There little boy Owen is to die for. I actually watched him earlier in the week (he will be one this week) and it actually made me want another one....can you believe it? BUT BUT BUT I want "it" to come out at one. Owen and Koen (haha) where SO cute together!
ANYWAY, after we ate there we rushed home to have the sisters come over. I don't think I mentioned that the sisters have been teaching a girl in Phil's class, Jenn, the discussions at our house for the last few months. It has been so awesome to be in on all the discussions, and her amazing questions and simple faith. She actually sought Phil out to ask him about the church. (EVERYONE at school knows Phil is LDS, which is GREAT) Soon after they started teaching her at our home 1-2 times a week. Jen recently decided she wanted to be baptized, and so Friday they came over to teach her a few more things about baptism and have Phil help her feel at ease with how it would actually happen. I thought it was really special she wanted Phil to both Baptize and Confirm her. She is such an amazing person. She comes from Jewish background, but within the last few years had converted to be a Christian. She has a great understanding of the bible, and was seriously a GOLDEN investigator. It was like everything they told her fit in to place and made sense. It was amazing!
Saturday was Jenn's baptism. What a great experience. It was neat to be there through the whole process of someones conversion to baptism. Phil did a great job baptizing and confirming her! Good Job Phil! Special me, got to say the prayer! Jenn must have known I hate giving talks! Ü

Saturday night was Phil's Rho Chi(honor society) ceremony. So we had to get all dressed up, which is definitely fun for me. It was held at the conference center at the Marriott. They feed us dinner, which was surprisingly very good and then did a ceremony initiating all the new members. It was special. Phil is such a amazing guy, he does such a good job of juggling school, family, and church and still manages to excel at all of them! He is a great example to me and we are SO proud of him! Yah Phil! Thank you thank you Brook for watching Koen while we went. I know he enjoyed playing with Casen and Jace a lot more than having a babysitter.

This is really the only good picture. It is everyone on Rho Chi for the classes of 2008 and 2009. The lighting was terrible for picture taking in there so all the ones of him walking up and such just aren't that great.

The proud wife and the smarty pants husband!

ENOUGH ALREADY!

When I say enough already I am referring to two different things! #1 the snow! Stop seriously STOP! It is March 29th, there is no need for snow to be on the ground! The other night when my friends left we realized we had received 4 inches of snow! After it just melted! STOP!

I took this picture out my window so sorry it isn't that great, but seriously you know this is SO unnecessary!

#2 thing that is UTTERLY unnecessary is for my neighbors to park their car in front of my house EVERY day! Isn't that so annoying, I mean A-they have there own house to park in front of and B- they have a two car garage. HOW ANNOYING! I just looked out the window(literally) to see it parked there, just as usual! When Nate and Gina came to pick up Kade I made them pull in front of him like pretty close to his car hoping they'd get the point. They stopped for like a week and then started again! What do I do? I mean at least it isn't an old junker, but still totally bugs me!

I love my friends!

Last night was girls night, at my house! Thank you to all of you who came! It is always so much fun! I love that we have such a fun group of girls and that we can laugh and talk about anything....really anything! Just wanted to say I love you guys, and think you are the best! What will I do when I move away and you only reminisce to new comers about the Olsens? Sad.
PS I had the best of intentions to take some pics because I dont want to move away with only pics of your kids! So next girls night there will be a photo shoot! Ü haha

How do you like this?

Today I was doing my makeup getting ready for the children's museum, when I hear CRASH! BOOM! BANG!....never a good thing. I looked down the stairs to find my half naked child (waist down) crying at the bottom of the stairs. He had taken off his pants and his diaper THEN peed on the landing from the stairs (linoleum) and then slipped in his own pee! What the??? What a weirdo!

Washington DC...Kid free style

Gina was insistent we "pay her back" for watching Kade. I kept telling her "I am sure we will make it up to you later" But she was looking on line at tickets and came up with the great idea of going to stay with my aunt again and do some more touring with out Koen in DC. It sounded like a pretty good idea to me so I said "OK!" Anyway Here is a mini report: (mini BUT still long)
*Tuesday: We left in the morning and drove down to Nate & Gina's, luckily Koen seemed to be feeling better as he had been throwing up the night before (no one wants to leave their sick baby). We got there just in time to switch car seats and have Gina drop us off at the airport. (Yes we flew! We had some vouchers from Delta we needed to use, and NO it was not worth it, we got stuck in JFK for like 3 hours, so annoying) We ended up getting in about 9 PM
*Wednesday: We decided to head to the Holocaust museum because last time we went I was pushing Koen through, you can imagine how much I saw. We spent the whole day there! It was so interesting, and sad at the same time. Good experience.
*Thursday: We met up with some of our friends Aaron and Niki, who had decided to go to DC as well and hopped on the tour mobile. We took it over to Arlington Cemetery which was somewhere we didn't get to see last time. It is CRAZY how many head stones there are there! We were able to see the changing of the guards at the tomb of the unknown soldier and the Lee Mansion (please can I live there!!!) WOW! Then we checked out the Botanical Gardens which was also neat. (disregard my outfit this day, it is horrendous. It was so windy/cold I literally had to wear everything I brought!)
*Friday: I decided I had toured myself out, and Phil was OK with that. So we went SHOPPING! Phil still had money left from Christmas, so he blew that. And I didn't find one single thing, I was ornery. Even though it is definitely better on the budget! We spent the night having yummy Chinese food with Aunt Lieu and Uncle Doug! Thanks!!! PS we slept in till like 10:30...so great!
*Saturday: My aunt and uncle had tickets to the NCAA basketball game and they let us go...um how nice is that? It was so fun and we were able to see two AWESOME games. Duke vs West Virgina and Purdue vs Xavier...way fun! Then we headed out to eat. We were gonna check out the National Spy Museum but decided we would rather spend our 50 bucks on food, how lame are we?
*Sunday: We flew home early in the morning. I was so excited to see Koen and I am sure Phil was too. When I climbed up the stairs at Nate and Gina's house he was peeking out the window smiling and giggling. He was just as excited to see me. I swear I smooched his head off for like the next few hours!
It was a really fun trip and a good break! Thanks Nate and Gina for watching Ko. I know he had so much fun! You guys are the best. And thank you Aunt Lieu and Uncle Doug for always being such great host's. We love you both!

Happy Easter!

We came home from DC yesterday morning, picked Koen up, and headed home. We got home around 1:00 in time for us all to take a much needed nap. After Naps Koen had a visit from the Easter bunny. Here are a few pics of him with his Easter basket. He REALLY loved the light up spinny thing. He pushes the button and STARES at it for ever! No cute church outfit here, as we didn't even go to church. SAD! That is one of my favorite traditions, a cute church outfit for everyone!

Guess who we saw in DC???

BRADY MORLOCK....or a look-a-like!

We were riding along on the tour mobile and this kid was getting on and Phil was like dying..."That kid out there looks like Brady(our brother in law)" I was like "ya he does" when he got on the bus and I saw him more up close I didnt really think so, but Phil insisted "Brady" let us take a pic of him. Phil said he only had me and my blog in mind. (cute) so here it is...what do you think? Maybe Brady punked out a little bit? haha And deffinetly not quite as cute. Ü

This is the real Brady and Phils sister Britton.

More to come on the trip when I get all the pics!

A visit to Utah!

Just wanted to let everyone know I am coming home for a visit! YAHOO! I am coming on May 17 until June 1. Phil is not coming as he will be in school, but Koen and I are stoked to visit! Hope to be able to see you all while we are home!
PS we are in DC on a visit right now. We will be home tomorrow and I will be sure to update!

The adventures of Koen and Kade

Wow it has been a crazy week! Plenty of ups and downs, an overuse of the naughty corner/time out, interesting outings, and a stressed out mom! Things go really well when we stay home(minus meal times), but I am not very good at staying home so I have attempted to take them out a few times this week. Notice I say an attempt because I felt completely out of control each and everytime. I do not envy anyone with twins. (Michelle I have been thinking about you all week, three words, YOU ARE AMAZING!) Here are some pics and videos from the highlights of our week.

Bath time is always something to look forawrd to. They are somewhat contained and there is minimal damage that can be done. Koen and Kade give a shout out to some of there Olsen family members.

They love to sit in Koen's rocking chair TOGETHER and drink milk and have me read them LOTS of books. They literally have to do everything the SAME, including naughty things.

Signing time on Mama/Lesha's bed is a must! Cant forget the paulk/nalk (milk...) Koda always has to join too!

We went to Chick-fil-a to play at the place place on Wednesday. My 2nd venture out. Much better than the first (grocery store) the door out of the play place is too heavy for them to open! YAHOO! Here is what Kade did...hang out with Lesha.

Here is what Koen did...be a monkey with his friends Tessa and Jace. Both boys are super drinkers as you can tell! Good thing Lesha always remembers sippies!

Today we went o Chuck E Cheese. Once again a not so easily escapeable place. (this is what I learned to most desire in a place to go, after running after Kade carrying Koen through the grocery store. I didnt like the looks I got! Ü) Here are the boys with Stewart Little

All fun and games at Chuck E Cheese

These two little boys truly do have a good time together and are so dang cute! Here they are giving five. Koen is super in to "five" and "Bones" He even tries to give them to people on the tv, and ALWAYS to whoever puts him to bed. I am glad Kade thinks it is fun too!

WHOA snow!

Last weekend we got POUNDED with snow! On Thursday when I came home we had no snow on the ground and it was nice and sunny. By Sunday church was cancelled and we had over 2 feet. WHAT THE??? Today I decided I would take Koen and Kade out to play in the snow. (as we are home bound, cause I HATE driving when the roads are bad, tomorrow they should be up to par for driving) Koen loves to play in the snow. He always puts on his boots and signs and say "snowing" over and over! Kade had never been out in the snow, so I was not really sure what to expect. They were such a crack up! This is the walk to my front door, HOLY SNOW!
Kade totally made himself a seat in the snow once he realized walking on it wasn't so easy.
Kade totally thought he could wheelbarrow around on top of the snow, not so much.
Ko was content to stay on the deck where there was only a few inches of snow and fill up the wheelbarrow.
Crack me up! Kade totally started crawling all over the snow, and Koda was following him. Them randomly he was on his back and saying "stuck"
Totally busted out the ball and the summer toys
cutie head
When we first came out I put gloves on Kade and then ran in to get the camera, when I cam back this is what I found. Needless to say he left the gloves on after that. :)

SO excited!

While I was in the hospital my new little surprise came in the mail!
My new Ipod shuffle! I really wanted an Ipod for Christmas but for some reason I thought I needed like the most expensive one so of course it didn't happen. Well a month or so ago one of my friends told me about how she earned her free shuffle on a website. I totally came home and got started. It took me about 2 weeks (filling out things with your email, address and phone number, of course! Lucky for me I have an email I don't use and am moving soon so don't care about junk mail or calls to my home phone!) I am so excited about it! I got it 100% FREE! I know all of you probably already have them, but it is new to me and I am stoked!

Just to cover a few other random things:
A: About the IUD it isn't that I hate them now, I actually wouldn't be surprised if I got another one. It just wont be for a while. What happened to me is RARE and now days(at least here)they are taking more precautions so such things don't happen.
B: For those who have inquired on the babysitting sitch, it is going really well. Lucky for us Koen and Kade play great together. It says a lot(with two 2 year olds) when they have been together for a full day and a half and neither or them have cried because of something the other has done! So far so good!

Avid IUD user, not so sure anymore.

As some of you know I was in the hospital for a few days this week. Here is the story...Monday I was having severe (this is how I explained it to Phil Ü) abdominal cramping. By that night I was doubled over on the bed with a fever of 102. In my head i debated going to the ER, wondering if it could be something like appendicitis, but really feeling it had to do with my IUD. I ruled the ER out thinking one visit, on my account, in a year is PLENTY! Tuesday I got an apt with my OBGYN. They found that my IUD was in my cervix. (it is called intra uterine device for a reason Ü, that's where it belongs!) Assuming infection(because the IUD being out of place and my fever) they wanted to admit me to the hospital for IV antibiotic treatments. I stayed there for 48 hours. I am glad(even though at the time I wanted to go home) that they treated this as they did. Untreated infection can cause swelling in the fallopian tubes that can leave scarring and cause infertility. To make the story more interesting here is a conversation between my room mate(70 something, not all there women, Judy) and my nurse.
Judy: "I cant breathe!"
Nurse: "Yes you can Judy, but don't try to take your oxygen off"
Judy: "But I cant breath"
Nurse:" Well put your oxygen in you mouth then"
Judy:"Booogers"
Nurse"Well they are your boogers?"
Judy"Mom said NO boogers"

WEIRD!!!I felt like she was my 2 year old son. Isnt it funny how you regress back to a little child. Between that and them yelling at her to wake her up to move her from the bed to the chair, "JUDY JUDY WAKE UP", "JUDY WAKE UP ELVIS IS HERE!" I guess she loves Elvis. At first I thought she was cute and felt bad for her but after a night of that and no sleep because of her moans and groans, I asked for a room swap.I was sent over to Peds. It was great, I got to watch movies and have Popsicles and ice cream.

This picture shows that I look like I belong in Peds, I swear I am 12. It was much better in my new room when Phil and Koen came to visit. There was no longer Judy and her interesting things for Koen to want to visit.
Plus I had a couch! Koen loved it!And of course a sink for him to play in! Here Ko is eating his breadstick and watchin a show on my couch!
And this picture is just for Mindy. My IV! I am so proud of myself I didn't even cry! And I decided that it isn't just the needles I am freaked out about but also the idea of something under my skin. As I am in the market for a new BC method, I was reading the pamphlet about implanon(they put it in you arm) and I was feeling SO sick about it!Something in my arm... that totally grosses me out...eek!

MOST pleasant suprises!

For those of you who live away from home, you know that the most pleasant days are when the mail man unexpectedly(or expected) rings your door bell and says he has a package for you! Well that happened to me this week, and here is what was inside...

I was so excited to open it and find this SO cute blanket! Phil's Grandma Olsen made it especially for little Ko Ko. Koen was so excited about the little pillow, he carried it around saying pillow all day! This definitely made my day just as any packages (or envelopes for that matter) from family do! Thank you Grandma Olsen, We love you!

I now see what all the fuss was about...

So I finally finished reading The Work and The Glory series on Wednesday. Definitely bitter sweet. I was sad to be done with those but at the same time ready for a change in my reading agenda. I carried around Twilight all night Wednesday thinking I would start it, wondering if it was going to be "my type" of book! Well I started it about a half hour before Koen woke up from his nap on Thursday and finished it this morning. I don't remember the last time I read a book in less than 48 hours! WOW! I couldn't put it down. I NEEDED to know what was going to happen next. I found myself reading while Koen was watching his after bed/nap show, staying home from girls night to read, and reading while I was taking the dog out! COME ON, put it down! SO good. I love it! I cant wait to start the next one, but seeing how I don't have it and don't want to pay $13 for it(I am cheap, I know) I guess it will have to wait. So for those of you who told me to read it...good pick, and for those who are wondering if they might like it and what the fuss is all about READ IT!
