Hair today....gone tomorrow

Hair today...
Gone tomorrow...

That is basically how that went down! haha I have been losing so so much hair but have really not wanted to cut it, so I have refrained. Until I woke up on Feb 26th and showered....when I got out of the shower and picked through my hair there was this....

And that was after similar clods in the shower! I couldn't handle it for one more day...and so, that night 13 inches went bye bye!

The new do- it is fun, easy, fast, light etc However I do miss my long hair. But when I look at pics and miss it, I look at this other pic and remember it was time to start over.

Ragnar *Del Sol* Battle of the Sixes

Way back before Myla was born a friend asked if Phil and I were interested in doing Ragnar Del Sol! Of course I am always interested however I was 8 months prego and unsure of our future. After things settled with Myla she asked again. Phil wasn't super down and so I decided I wouldn't worry about it either. As it got closer a couple of my neighbors were training and I was feeling some serious race envy! I wanted to go!

Lucky for me, someone dropped out 2 weeks before race day(s)! And I have a most fabulous friend who was willing to go along for the ride and watch my baby! SCORE! So Stacie, her 8 year old, 1 year old and Me and Miss Myla were off to Phoenix! Surprisingly the ride was much much better than we anticipated- remember some little baby hates the car? She only cried from St George to Vegas. On the way home she barley cried at all- 10 minutes total! Thank my lucky stars!!! We for sure had to stop at the Cedar McDonalds to let the kids out to play. Hello, we need that McDonalds here! Sweet play place! And so funny that I ran into my aunt there!

The run was fabulous because our friend Brooke's house was right in the middle of the race. We went there between every leg and I was able to be with Myla for a lot of it. And when I wasn't she had the best babysitter in town, Stacie! Brooke was a great hostess and willingly let us all crash at her house the whole time!

My 3 legs were as follows:

1- 7.8 miles that looked fabulous and flat on the map...who knew the second half would be total sand with rolling hills! Not fun! And it was 2 PM and blazing. It was for sure one of my less favorite runs, but it is over. :) 9:35 pace
2- 2.6 easy miles...at 3:15 AM! It was on a cute little trail....cute if it was lite!! Instead it was super creepy so I tried to run fast! Also I didn't want a havalina to attack me! EEEK! 8:09 pace

3-This just has to be seen to know...
I wasn't sure what to expect because sooo many of our maps were totally off but this was spot on, and I LOVED IT! I'm totally ok with some serious uphills when you get awesome downhill rewards! By far one of my most favorite runs ever! 3.58 miles 8:53 pace

We met up with Stacie and all the kids at the finish line! We actually totally missed Beth run through so we reenacted it for the girls who lovingly made us signs! :)

All in a couple days work! :) Sunday morning we were off on our journey back home. To all that were a part of this one...it was fun, lets do it again!

The right choice

Lately I have been feeling especially glad that we choose Pierce to be buried where we did. Since Myla has been here our visiting over there has seriously struggled. A-it is winter and B-it seems that every time we drive by and would usually stop Myla is screaming-remember she hates the car? or it is time to feed her or something.

I am so glad he is close so that even when we aren't able to stop by we are still driving by and able to think about him. I am glad we choose to put him where we did in the cemetery. I love that when we drive by at night I can see his little lights(thanks you grandparents) and see exactly where his spot it.

It has been hard for me not being able to go over there as much. I feel like it is one of the only ways I can outwardly show my love for him. I miss him. Sometimes when I think about our life in that time I think it surely must have been a dream. It is like I still can't believe this happened to us and that we did and are living it. Seriously so bizarre. I think it seems even more surreal now that we are doing the baby thing again. It's like "did that really happen?" But then the missing, the pain and the love for him hit and I know "yes, that did, he is real."

We did have some nice weather this week and were finally able to stop by for a visit. It was Myla's first time and she had this cute little smirk on her face the whole time. I think she liked it. :) Can't wait for Spring, more visits and picnics. Love that little duder.

Be Mine Valentine

We had a pretty low key Valentines this year. I made the kiddos some delicious and nutritious heart shaped pancakes and send them off to school with Valentines in tow. Star wars for Brigs and Minecraft for Ko.

Phil and I went to breakfast at Kneaders which has become quite a tradition for us with him working the night. I quite like it. Cheap, no need for a sitter with kiddos at school, and still a date with my honey. ♥

The kids and I went to dinner at Chick fil A with some friends who were also Valentineless. :)

Myla {fourth month}

*Homegirl has been having some sleeping issues! It seems like the day she turned 3 months she decided to wake up multiple times at night! Eeek! No thanks! Luckily that only lasted a week or so but it was rough. She is back to her usually 6-8 hour stretches but HATES her bed. At least the swing isn't on right??

*Ears pierced!!! The day Myla turned 3 months she got her ears pierced. I always knew I would pierce her ears. I figure you may as well do it when they are too little to anticipate the pain. Most likely she will like it and if she doesn't she can always take them out. And for right now it makes her look more girly. I love it. She hated being confined while they tried to make teeny dots on tiny ears in the same spot for like 20 minutes lol The actual piercing was like 10 seconds of a super sad cry and done.

* No more snuggling for this little one she is all forward facing and checking things out! Still loves to stand. My neighbor calls her the "straight baby" haha She has also started being more interested in what's going on while nursing. We often have to find a quiet spot {away from Brigs ;) } Every once in a while I get a snuggle...and I savor it.

*I hadn't given Myla a bottle since before Thanksgiving and that wasn't a super wise choice. Now she doesn't want to take it. We are working on that.

* I weighed her shortly after turning 3 months and she weighed 10.7 lbs. Such a little miss.

*spending time with cousin Dane and watching him surpass her in size. His mom keeps saying he could eat her for lunch! haha

*of course #especiallymadeformyla clothes are happening, and blankets! Grandma finished Myla's quilt for her bed! LOVE IT!

*fussy time at night is fewer and farther between, maybe 2 times a week. Still in the evening around dinner time. Makes dinner, homework and bedtime challenging when Phil is at work.

*laughed for the first time on 1/26. She is hard to get to laugh. It was like 3 little giggles and we've only heard it a handful of times. Usually we get more of a weird grunt. :)

*I think a growth spurt was happening this month because she was eating more often (3-3 1/2 hours) and had those funky night wakings.

*wore her first 3-6 month clothes on 1/29 (3 2/3 months) still fits in 0-3 too except for some onsies.

*L-O-V-E loves her hands! They are non stop in her month....non stop. I think she would suck something if I didn't swaddle her so tight! haah

*having a little sister in still not getting old...for any of us!

*this month I decided this is my favorite age (so far) I am absolutely loving 3-4 months. She is so happy. Just my voice makes her break out in a big smile. I love watching her figure out the things around her, and she can't move yet. ;)
