We are having a....

BOY!

My mom and Koen came with me to the doctors this morning for my ultrasound, because Phil could not get off his rotation. We are having a boy, loud and clear. It was funny cause the tech was like "do you want to know the sex?" and I said "yes" so she scrolled down and we both said "oh...boy" Not shy. I wouldn't have really been surprised either way, because I had no idea. There were definitely reasons for wanting both, but I feel like the best way I can put it is: If I got to choose I would want a boy because it is the exact season as Koen(so I have all the stuff) and I know I want another boy so why not have them closer in age BUT I wish I could have the guarantee of a girl next time. I would be really sad if I never have a girl. So I would have liked a girl mostly so I wouldnt have to stress next time. Ü
Anway we have a healthy little brother and Koen couldn't be more excited. Phil called when we were leaving and I handed the phone to Koen and said "say hi to dad" and he said "Hi dad, I getting a brother!" So cute. I really cant believe that A-I am going to have 2 kids and B- I am going to have 2 boys....yikes!
People have been asking for some pictures so here you go....me and the babe, and just the babe.

Glorious Day(s)

These last few days have been glorious in the potty training era. I have heard lots of "mom I need to go pee" and "mom I need to poo" with out "Koen it is time to sit on the potty" from me. I love it. He is doing so good, and going so long in between. I am still using his watch a little bit and have it set at 90 minutes, but often times when the watch goes off he will say "silly watch I just went peeps, No peeps mom" Yesterday he went 3 hours and then just let one big pee. This morning he knocked on the door with a dry diaper and said "mom let me out I need to go pee" I am so proud of him. Good work Koen, you are awesome. Even if you insist on only wearing Thomas underwear, when we have 20 other pairs.

Another funny thing he said the other day:
Koen: "mom I want to call Tessa"
Mom "ok lets find Laura in my phone" I find laura and say
Mom: "Ok her she is, Laura Brown" He looks at me funny
Koen: "Mom Laura isn't brown she is white"
silly kid.
Ko your the best little boy a mom could ask for...I love you. ♥
PS I find out what the baby is tomorrow.

Sledding:
Ko loves sledding, as long as he can go with someone. If you tell him to go by himself he says "No, I fall off" A few weeks before Christmas Phil and I bought a sled at target. We had parked a little ways away and so Koen got his first ride on the sled....to the car. He thought it was great, and wanted Phil to pull him all over the yard when we got home.

A few days before Christmas Phil and some of his siblings took the kids sledding. I wasn't there to witness, but I heard they all had a great time.
Mission
Gina, my sister in law/best friend since I was 7, and her husband Nate, and Koen's best little friend Kade where in town for Christmas. While they were here her cute little brother left on his mission. Lets just say he is pretty much the only little brother I had(besides my invisible one, which is a whole other story) and that I love her family like my own. He is going to be so great and I am so proud of the example he is setting for little Koen and Kade. When I told Koen Blake was going on a mission he said "A mission just like rocket?" Rocket on little Einsteins goes on "missions" and Koen thought it was really cool that Blake gets to go too. Koen says cute stuff like "I'm gonna go on a mission like Blake" cute.

Koen and Kade time
I love having Nate and Gina here. I get my best friend, and Phil and Koen gets theirs. What a win win situation. We loved hanging out with them while they were here, and cant wait till they move home. It is so cute to watch Ko and Kade talk and interact with eachother now that they are older. I love it.

Potty Training
Lets just say I was REALLY scared to start potty training and REALLY dreading it. We tried for a total of maybe 4 hours in June and it was pretty much the worst 4 hours ever. Koen has been peeing on the potty 3+ times a day for the last 2 months so I kept telling myself I would start after Christmas, before school started. I figure he is as ready as he'll ever be without saying "mom I don't want to wear diapers anymore" and who knows when that will happen. So he has been doing really well, we haven't had any #1 accidents since Thursday of last week. #2 was a bit more of a struggle but I think 2 and 2 have clicked and he has been doing great the last few days! All with the help of the potty watch(love), a big digger and some Cars cars.
Playing on the floor with his new cars. I insisted on him wearing this "protection" over his underwear for the first few days, I did not want to be scrubbing pee off the carpet.
Ko with his prizes. At first we did a hershey kiss and the sticker chart for going potty and when the chart got full he got a Cars car. The big digger was for the first time he pooped on the potty. About 5 days in he was peeing on the potty all the time and not caring about the sticker chart or a "special treat"anymore so now he gets a new Cars car everytime he poops on the potty, until it isnt a struggle anymore. GOOD JOB KOEN! He also got those awesome Diego socks, and plenty of character underwear while trying to get him to poo on the potty for the first time!
School
Well school started for me yesterday. A few have inquired so here are the details...I am taking Anatomy+lab, and Chemistry+lab. I am hoping this wont be too much with my personal tutor/brainiac husband! I am hoping to apply to SLCC's Dental Hygiene program after Fall semester.(I am taking summer off, to birth a babyÜ) I kind of feel like I go a lot, every night but Thursday and MWF in the afternoons, but I think it will be a nice break, and will get the blood flowing to the brain again! Ü Wish me luck!

New Years

Happy New Year...a few days late!
Well for New Years Eve we went over to Mindy and Dustins for a continuation of the Wii party that has been going on since Phil got his Wii on Christmas. I can honestly say I played once the whole night, I obviously just enjoyed talking and eating. Good Alesha. Thanks Mindy and Dust for having us over!
Ryann, Kate, Kiley, Marissa, Britty and Kade playing mario kart
Matt, Phil, Brady and Nate. They had Mario Kart in the basement and Guitar Hero upstairs.
Gina, Bevin and Mindy, Paige and Tanna
Britton and Me urwrapping some chocolates to make chocolate covered pretzels!
Eric and Stacey and us. Everyone left except for us 4, Britton and Brady and the host couple, so each couple had our own bottle of sparkling cider to ring in the new year!

On New Years Day Phil had to work but it was my moms family party at my aunts house. So I took Ko and went out with my mom and dad. It is always fun to see family who you dont see very often.

Cousins. Hayley holding Lucy, Kinder and Nicole, and me, with a little Gram in the back!
Happy New Year Frank!
My mom's brothers and sisters and her mom. Minus a couple.

I'm not so much one for new years resolutions but a few things I do want to do, do better, or am looking forward to this year are:
*potty train Koen
*Be more diligent about reading my scriptures
*Do well in school(rival Phil and is 4.0's haha)
*Have a healthy pregnancy and baby
*Try really hard to get out of debt(starting in June Ü)
*GRADUATION

Hope Everyone has a great 2009!
