For Christmas my brother and SIL gave us tickets to Les Mis down at Pioneer Theater, in May. Phil and I both saw the movie to prep for it and were excited to see the play. We first all met for dinner and then went up to the Theater. I loved it. It was just like the new movie but better. So good! Great present!

St George-Girls Trip
I had not planned on going down to St George for the girls trip this year since Pierce's birthday was right in the middle of the weekend. Tanna asked if I would want to go Saturday night because she didn't think she could go down for longer than that either. I was pretty excited because that worked for me to do what I wanted to for P's birthday but also spend time with my SIL's and MIL, who I love! We got there Friday night and stayed until Monday afternoon. It was a quick trip but definitely worth it. Super fun.
We laid out, went for a run, slept in, stayed up late, draino tested for baby gender, and did the Sour Patch kid test! Good good times!

Happy 2nd Birthday in Heaven
My main goal in celebrating Pierce's birthday is to spend it with my family. I want this day to ALWAYS be a special day that we all try to be together, even when my kids are old. I want to celebrate him and his part in our family every year on his birthday! We have thought it would be fun each year to do something that he would like to do. This year we had decided to go to Cowabunga Bay, a waterpark. However woke up to a pretty windy day. The kids were so bummed because they had been looking forward to it but we really didn't want to freeze.
First we went to the bike parade around the neighborhood. It was so sweet tons of people there were wearing their Pierce shirts if they had one or blue. I have the best neighborhood, seriously. So sweet to know that they all remember and care. Brigs had to make the switch to the 4 wheeler shortly after we got there, silly boy.
Then we went to Kneaders to breakfast with our friends. We went there last year on his birthday too. It is rare to go to breakfast as a family and both our kid love the french toast. It so yummy!
Then we decided to hit the new movie Epic since it was still pretty windy a cold. The Wrights, Laura and Kids, and Ky and Jenn came with us. It was cute.
When the movie was over we headed over to the cemetery for a little birthday party. I had a hard time with who to invite. I didn't want people to feel obligated to come, or drive far to be there, but I also don't want anyone to feel bad. I would love to have anyone who wanted to be there, be there, but it's hard to know who. If you would wanna come, you just let me know, I'd love to have you. :) We had a small crowd of a little family and close friends and it was wonderful.
I was a great day. Really? Did I really just say that? YEP! I did, and it feels so good to be able to say that. I cried a few times, mostly knowing how much people care. I felt like that day was spent remembering him and thinking about him and it was really happier than I could have imagined. :)

Happy 2nd Birthday to this sweet Angel!
Happy Birthday little buddy! We are spending the whole day celebrating and thinking of you! We wish you could be here to celebrate too. It would be so much more fun that way. We really miss you. I know that you are happy in Heaven. At the same time I hope you miss us too. I've been wondering a lot lately if you are able to hang out with little sis. I have no idea, but I'd like to think so. We really love you. We think of you and talk about you daily. You are never forgotten.

Baseball Boys
Both of my kids are playing baseball this spring. Needless to say we are BUSY! We are at baseball 5 nights a week, often hitting both boys in one night. Koen is playing on the city league and Brigs for the Rec center. The city league is much longer (March-June) and Brigs is only 4 weeks, perfect for a 3 year old. They have both done really well.
Koen has improved so much. I am sure it is because of the consistency of practice and games over an extended period of time. He plays machine pitch and is hitting it 90% of them time. He of course has his "don't sign me up for anything else" attitude but is such a good sport and play and does well. I just don't want him later to wish he had played sports, gotta keep him in a bit longer. :)
Brigs had a much better experience with this than with soccer last fall. Not sure if it was the age, or the sport. He was all over baseball. He liked to bat, he liked to run for the ball and overall did really well listening to his coach (minus the 1 game Phil attended, of course.)
I would really super like it if one of them picks to love baseball!!! It is my fav to watch!!!
