everyone LOVES a party

I am so excited to have my own house again for many reasons but one being to have PARTIES! I really love hosting parties and especially ones for my kiddos. I thought what could be better than a little Valentines party. We had most of Koen's friends over for pizza, cupcake decorating and exchanging valentines. The kids enjoyed running around in the basement and riding bikes! (and they even found some treasures in our window wells, dead mice, how great) The party turned out really great! Thanks to everyone who come and those who could not, we missed you!

8 months here and gone

Brigs is 8 months today. Pretty weird. He has been beyond grumpy for the past 3 weeks. First he got a cold, he had all sorts of gunk in his throat(so he would throw up) and a horrible cough, then I could swear he is trying to get his bottom teeth (although nothing has come yet) and finally after hours of crying unless I held him I decided to take him in and low and behold an ear infection.
I have never been so dillegent about giving medicine as I am with this, but the problem is he is STILL grumpy. He is happy for about 30 minutes after he wakes up each time and then he cries the remainder of the day. He is intense. And good birth control. ;)
Regardless he does have some fabulous features other than his extreme tempermentalness, is that a word? If not he makes it one. I thought I would list 8 things I love about him!

1-His HUGE smile. He can be crying, which like I stated is frequent, and if you give him a big smile and talk to him he will stop for a minute and show you his huge smile that over takes his face! I love it! Along with that smile come the dimples.

 

2. He is such a good sleeper. He sleeps 11-12 hours straight at night and two 2 hours naps. At least that gives us all a break from his crying. ;)

3. His laugh. He is the same way with laughing as he is with smiling. He will always stop crying to laugh if you tickle him. His laugh is to die for. Story: today we were laying on the floor and he tooted and I said "ohhh" and he just laughed for like 30 seconds. I guess he thought it was funny. It is so contagious, I laugh every time he does. 

4.His baby blue eyes, I told Phil that was the only thing I cared for our kids to get from me and so far so good.

he loves this ball! And he usually doesn't cry in the bath. bonus!

5.His chubbiness. Tonight in the bath I could not stop looking at his cute little chubby bum and legs. I even have a hard time lifting up his bum to change his diaper cause I feel like he cant breath, and he is not nearly as flexible as most babies. lol

6. His hair. It is finally starting to grow in. It kinda looks silly now with out some product, like a fuzz ball!

7. How much he loves his his brother. He cant do anything else when Koen is around but see what he is doing. 

8. I love nursing him at night! AND he actually wants to(it's about the only time)! I love watching him get so sleepy and his eyes roll back in his head and stay open just as slits. It is like the only time he lets me cuddle and love on him!

At the doctor for his ear infection he was 17 lbs and 25 1/2 inches. Everyone always comments on how small he is but it is totally because he is so short. haha My family calls him a sack of sugar. He is a brick. 

And just so I can remember...at 8 months he can

-not quite crawl . he spins all the way around, rolls a ton and can push him self backward until he runs into something and gets stuck. I think this may be contributing to his orneriness.

-eats like a champ...if he wants to. His favorite foods are yogurt, peas, carrots, toast, and regular oatmeal (with some goods added;) He doesn't like...well not much, maybe garden veggies

-has had the pincer down for a couple months so he feeds him self really well!

-is starting to imitate some things you do..."dah dah dah" or scrunching your face and sniffing, too cute!

What does your mommy do? I ont know, what do you do?

 Does she sometimes do nice things? Yah, you clean up.

Who is your daddy? My daddy's at work, his name is Phil

What does your daddy do? Clean up....(really? lol)

What is your favorite color? Blue

What do you want to be when you grow up? a MONSTER!!!

What is your favorite food? Pizza

What food do you not like? Toast, Me: you are eating toast right now Him: Ya um...I dont like (repeated about 5 times) I dont like the micro ice when it is so loud.(I made him clarify, it is when he is getting ice from the fridge)

What is your favorite animal?  A Reindeer, I like Santa's reindeers, I like rudolph, its a long time since I have seen rudolph, I mean I have never seen him,  I want to see him, when it is next Christmas can I see Rudolph?
(we have been having talks about never and its been a while, he will always say he has never done stuff if it has been a while, now he always makes sure he gets it right ;))

What is your favorite toy? ummm, cars. My favorite toy is cars that I have, my belly is all full of toast and hot chocolate. Lets go and play....

This post is 100% dedicated to my kids. I wish there was a pause button on my life. I wish I could just pause it here for a little bit. I think both of my kids are at my favorite ages so far. I feel like all day long I am saying "why are you so cute?" "Why are you so big?" "Can you please stop growing?" to both of them. I just love them so much and they are so cute and fun right now!

 

  

  

 

Koen's imagination is out of this world. I love to just stop and listen to things he says when he is playing. He is always pretending to be someone or something. It is great. He is such a good kid. I sometimes think we may have another thing coming with B. As much as I like to think it is my great parenting skills, I think we just have a very obedient tender hearted little guy. He also is starting to just tell things how it is. It is always a crack up, the two most recent I can think of are:
      *we were discussing how his cousin Kade was turning 4 and he was saying how he was going to get big too. He then went on to say "Ya I want to get big like you Mom" He then paused a minute and stuttered around saying " I mean like Dad" ( I thought it was surely because he is a boy) NOPE he went on to say " I don't want to have polka dots all over my face...zaps, I mean zits" Thanks dude.
      *This past week he started up preschool again. Phil has been hyping it up to him about why he needs to go and learn and get smart. So he told Phil "I am smart because I go to school and mommy is too cause she goes to school." He proceeded to tell Phil that he wasn't and that he would look for a teacher for him.

It is just so fun to see what his little mind can conjure up! I love it!

 

  

One day he wanted to "spray his hair down" It was really weird to see him with it down, he doesn't even look like the same kid. lol

  

 

I got him this tent from Ikea. He loves it. The other day when I got home from school Phil was putting him to bed and this is what I saw. He was so excited. It is perfect. His little toddler bed mattress fits in their perfectly! He thinks it is pretty fabulous and has slept in there every night since.

Brigs is my little chub a lub. I know to others he may not seem very chubby but to me he totally is. Koen never had a roll in his whole life so I just want to squeeze little Brigy's legs off! He is still super short. 25 1/2 inches and just hit 18 lbs. His laugh is the best thing ever. I want to tickle him and blow on his belly all day just to hear him laugh. He is teething right now and has a cold so he wants me to carry him all over the place, I secretly like it. Both of my kids are so independent, which is because of how I raise them and I like it, but sometimes it is nice to have him be a little attached. ;) 

 

He wants to crawl so bad, and moves backward all over the floor.

  

  

    

  

  

He loved the idea of the Popsicle which I thought might make his teeth feel better, until he decided to try and hold onto it with both hands...ouch!
