8 months here and gone

Brigs is 8 months today. Pretty weird. He has been beyond grumpy for the past 3 weeks. First he got a cold, he had all sorts of gunk in his throat(so he would throw up) and a horrible cough, then I could swear he is trying to get his bottom teeth (although nothing has come yet) and finally after hours of crying unless I held him I decided to take him in and low and behold an ear infection.
I have never been so dillegent about giving medicine as I am with this, but the problem is he is STILL grumpy. He is happy for about 30 minutes after he wakes up each time and then he cries the remainder of the day. He is intense. And good birth control. ;)
Regardless he does have some fabulous features other than his extreme tempermentalness, is that a word? If not he makes it one. I thought I would list 8 things I love about him!

1-His HUGE smile. He can be crying, which like I stated is frequent, and if you give him a big smile and talk to him he will stop for a minute and show you his huge smile that over takes his face! I love it! Along with that smile come the dimples.

 

2. He is such a good sleeper. He sleeps 11-12 hours straight at night and two 2 hours naps. At least that gives us all a break from his crying. ;)

3. His laugh. He is the same way with laughing as he is with smiling. He will always stop crying to laugh if you tickle him. His laugh is to die for. Story: today we were laying on the floor and he tooted and I said "ohhh" and he just laughed for like 30 seconds. I guess he thought it was funny. It is so contagious, I laugh every time he does. 

4.His baby blue eyes, I told Phil that was the only thing I cared for our kids to get from me and so far so good.

he loves this ball! And he usually doesn't cry in the bath. bonus!

5.His chubbiness. Tonight in the bath I could not stop looking at his cute little chubby bum and legs. I even have a hard time lifting up his bum to change his diaper cause I feel like he cant breath, and he is not nearly as flexible as most babies. lol

6. His hair. It is finally starting to grow in. It kinda looks silly now with out some product, like a fuzz ball!

7. How much he loves his his brother. He cant do anything else when Koen is around but see what he is doing. 

8. I love nursing him at night! AND he actually wants to(it's about the only time)! I love watching him get so sleepy and his eyes roll back in his head and stay open just as slits. It is like the only time he lets me cuddle and love on him!

At the doctor for his ear infection he was 17 lbs and 25 1/2 inches. Everyone always comments on how small he is but it is totally because he is so short. haha My family calls him a sack of sugar. He is a brick. 

And just so I can remember...at 8 months he can

-not quite crawl . he spins all the way around, rolls a ton and can push him self backward until he runs into something and gets stuck. I think this may be contributing to his orneriness.

-eats like a champ...if he wants to. His favorite foods are yogurt, peas, carrots, toast, and regular oatmeal (with some goods added;) He doesn't like...well not much, maybe garden veggies

-has had the pincer down for a couple months so he feeds him self really well!

-is starting to imitate some things you do..."dah dah dah" or scrunching your face and sniffing, too cute!
