St Maarten has become one of my most favorite islands. The people here are so friendly and it doesn't at all feel like a touristy trap! We had a taxi take us to Sarafina's. It is a bakery that was closed last time we went. I am not much for pastries so I didn't get anything but everyone else loved it. The kids were so stressed about the bees they had to come to me for protection. :)
Then we shopped around. The kids were earning money each day they could spend on souvenirs and like most kids it was burning a hole in their pockets and they were buying the most random things. Brigs lucky finds - St Maarten bracelet and key chain. Koen's lucky finds- Same junk. :)
After we caught a cab and headed over to my most favorite beach! Mullet Bay is gorgeous! The kids had a blast. Brigs is soooo my child. He could spend day in day out at the beach. He LOVES it. I never heard one complaint except when it was time to go!
Brigs was so tired on the way back he passed out.
That night was the only night we tried a different restaurant for dinner. It was a little fancier setting.
After dinner they had fireworks! Gotta love fireworks off the back of the boat in the middle of the ocean. Pure coolness!
Wednesday Jan 21st- St Thomas
This day we thought we would head to Coki Beach. Half our group had gone here last time and loved it. It seemed family friendly with snorkeling and lots of fish to see. We had a GREAT day! The weather was smoking hot, just how I like it! The boys took the kids snorkeling where they had a good time until Greg stepped on some Black sea urchin. eeek! The major down fall was how busy it was! Honestly there was not a square inch of open space! There were 6 ships in this day and you could feel it! Welcome to peak season!
That night we headed back to our usual spot in the restaurant on the back of the boat with the live music and dance floor. It was more our style and Phil loved the singer. ;)
Thursday Jan 22nd - sea day
On our last day at sea we had the Pajama Jam with all the Nick characters. We woke up just in time for breakfast with all our friends!
We laid by the pool after the jam and then when lunch came around we decided to try out this bbq grill/bar place up on deck. Brigs was so happy when he saw they had black beans. That kid LOVES black beans!
After lunch it got quite windy and was raining on and off. We went and watched Ava perform in the kids talent show, sooo cute! and then the boys took the kids to the Nick activity to make t-shirts. That night was the glow party! We had so much fun, or really I had so much fun! The kids were pretty tired and didn't last long. Phil, knowing how much I love to dance, took the kids to bed while I stayed and danced a while! SOOO fun!
Friday Jan 23rd- Nassau Bahamas
I had heard so many bad things about the Bahamas before we went there and was honestly kind of nervous. This was the only place we booked an excursion and the negative I'd heard was the reason why. It ended up being a perfect relaxing day and so I think we were all happy we did. We went to Blue Lagoon resort. It was honestly perfect for families with small kids. No waves, shallow water, lots of toys and lots of fun!
We had such a great time on our trip and didn't want to go home! Except for that we were sooo excited to see little sis. On Saturday between flights I talked my mom into meeting my sister so that we could get My right when we got home! I have the best sister who kept My the whole week. And thanks to my mom for helping us get little sister home! There were some very happy reunions!
