Happy 6th Birthday Koen!!

Koen is 6 years old! Hard to believe! 6 seems so big and makes me feel so old! We had a great time celebrating his birthday!

I think he was so excited to celebrate he couldn't go to sleep. He kept asking me a # of ?'s while I was trying to wrap his presents. Then I went up to get something and found this on the stairs.

He woke up to his door decorated. He said "this is the best birthday ever!" within about 30 seconds of being awake. haha Awesome.

He had to wait WAY too long for Phil to get home from his bike ride to open his presents, but when he did he was SO EXCITED! Just what he wanted, Star Wars stuff! He also really wanted cologne! haha

Unfortunately Phil's uncle passed away on Memorial Day and his funeral was on Koen's birthday. Koen said he didn't want to spend his birthday with a babysitter so he came with us. Even after Brigs ended up going to one of our friends house who totally has kids who are Koen's friends. I feel like first children love being little adults. haha

After the funeral we went and got lunch just the 3 of us at Cafe Rio. Koen got himself a full on burrito. Little cutie. Whatever you want for your birthday. It was fun to spend time just the 3 of us. Thanks Brook for keepin B man.

Koen had been requesting the Murray pool for his birthday. He has fond memories of that pool because that is where we always went when we lived with Grandma. I asked him who he wanted to come and he started listing all my friends kids, and I mean ALL. Not the ones his age, but all. I told him I wasn't about to take a gazillion kids swimming but we would invite the whole family of the friends. Brook just brought Brigs with her which worked out great, for us. haha

The kids had a great time swimming, going on the slide, jumping off the diving board etc. Brook had a great time locating a large poo in the pool. LOL good work Brook. It was all fun and games until the kids got out and realized that they had scrapes on their feet from the bottom of the pool. Then we had lots of tears....

Brigs totally peed on Phil's leg while waiting for the poo incidence to get under control! LOL

We kept the party going by heading to Leatherby's. Grandma and Grandpa Lovell met us there and Garr and Lynds and Fam and Greg and Wynde and fam came too. That reminds me of my childhood birthdays. I know I went there on  more than one occasion. It was as good as usual! YUM! :)

It was a great birthday! I feel like time just keeps flying by. Before I know it he will be all grown. :(

Here are some things about Koen at 6 for memories sake.

-He doesn't love anything that isn't his own idea, ie school, homework, baseball, the gym, reading, church etc. Silly kid wants to do what he wants to do. :)
-However he is very easy going. Even though he doesn't want to do those things he will and he is very well behaved at them.
-Favorite show is probably Curious George.
-Favorite movie is Star Wars
-He loves getting new toys. Even like from Mcdonalds. He could play with toys for hours.
-His imagination is out of this world. He is always building and creating something. Ziplines, movie theaters, gardens, etc
-He loves cereal. Especially cinnamon toast crunch. He also loves home made mac and cheese
-He is a great reader even though he doesn't love it. He is a lot like his mom and doesn't like to do things that he has to work at. He likes to just naturally be good.
-He loves anything about animals and science. Books and shows about rocks, weather and animals are his favorite. Especially deadliest animals.
-We measured him today at school and he is a 1/2 inch short of 4 feet. He weighs 45 lbs.
-Star Wars on the Wii is his favorite game. He also loves board games, but is kind of a poor sport. (another terrible trait from me.)
-Still sucking that darn thumb when he sleeps.
-He is a great big brother. Usually B starts most of the fights. :)

Really Koen is such a sweet kid. He is so easy and obedient. I love having him for my son and am so glad he is in our family.
