Independence Day

Happy 4th everyone! I love the 4th. It is summer, it is swimming, it is red white and blue and it is fireworks! What is not to love? This year we were recovering from some sort of nasty cold and decided to stay near the people we already infected. ;) Ie our close friends and the pool. :)

I spent the morning running the Riverton Country mile. Man was it HARD! I don't know if it was the course (it is rather hilly, like a few steep hills) or the fact that I was still on the mend from my sickness but I literally thought I might die a few times. I was happy that I managed to not slow too much from last week. 6.2 miles 47:29 7.39/M I was happy I took 4th overall in women and first in my age division.
Keri and I at the finish line. Too bad Laura had already left. :(
After we needed to get a few things at the store to make our yummy BBQ food and then we headed to the pool for just a bit.

Koen did not want to be at the pool. He asked me "why we always go there, it is NOT fun." Apparently  you need slides and diving boards to be fun. ;)

Before we headed to Stacie's for the BBQ we stopped by the cemetery to take a couple festive decorations to P. It needs a few more. It looks a little sparse.
We had some super festive food. That's the fun in it right? And other yummy non festive BBQ food.

And of course we had fun hanging out, chatting, doing pops, glitter tattoos and taking turns riding Brady's (Stacie's brother) motorcycle.

After we went to Sandy to see the fireworks. We got there about 10 minutes before they started and brought our own glow sticks. Wise wise choice. Except that the kids (esp Brigs) REALLY needed the light up sword still. Too bad we never saw them. ;)

Happy Birthday America!
