We decided to give it to the kids for Christmas. Therefor we all planned in secret and in code for a few months until the big reveal. So excited to be going with SO many friends. A few days before we left we were checking the weather and were not impressed. It was only supposed to be in the 60's. Def not what I was hoping for but glad I had some forewarning so I packed some warmer clothes and planned on NOT living at the pool ;) So glad i did because the forecast was RIGHT!
The day before we left we stopped by the cemetery to give Pierce a little Disney love!
We left on Thursday the 28th at 10. We were lucky to be on the same flight as the Brown's. {and also our neighbors the Treasures, which oddly enough booked the same cruise} The flights to Houston went rather well and uneventful! Good start!
After collecting bags, picking up cars and driving to Galveston, we met up with the Johnson's for some Tex Mex and our favorite Rita's! {the 3 of us all lived in PA together while our hubby's attended pharmacy school, Rita's was a fav out there} Then we were all beat and called it a night.
Friday March 1st- All Aboard
Our hotel had a shuttle to the port, so after eating some breakfast and securing our cars {that we rented for the whole week while we were gone} we were off to board the Disney Magic!
We were on the ship by about 12:30 and headed to lunch! Phil and Koen went exploring and Brigs and I took a little nap. I think my kids may have missed the sail away party but they had fun dancing away to the DJ after. We also checked out the kids clubs...they are so fun!
The Disney cruise does rotational dining so you eat in all the dining rooms a couple times. The first night we ate at Animators Palate. It was cool because the whole place starts out black and white and then through out dinner and the little show they do everything turns color. We didn't bring the little kids to dinner this night, we fed them and then let them play in the club.
Of course we headed to the show after dinner. I was so impressed by all the shows. So much better than any other cruise line I have been on. The first night was "Welcome aboard" it was by far my least favorite but could forsure rival another cruise line show! ha This night did start Brigs' obsession with Lumier. They have a Lumier that comes out of the curtains up top and talk and Brigs could not stop talking about the fire guy. He really did love him.
Saturday March 2nd- At sea
Everyone has a set time for a Character breakfast. So great how they do this, because you can get them all to sign your books, get pictures etc with no line. We loved seeing all the characters in person and in our food! haha
When we got done Phil and I headed to the gym while the kids went to camp and played for a bit. When we picked them up for lunch they thought we ought to go swimming. 60ish weather doesn't stop them!
Dinner that night was in Parrot Cay and was the first of our formal nights. Both of our kids wanted to come to dinner so we all got dressed up nice.
Brigs got a good nap and a second wind and we hit "Twice Charmed" a twist on the Cinderella story. LOVED IT!
