All Grown Up

My little man is officially in a big boy bed. I feel in my current situation this is sad. I am sure had Pierce been here I would have my fill in the baby area and would be excited for this change for Brigs and for me. However, with things the way they are I was perfectly fine with the only "baby" I have or may have (eek) staying a baby a little while longer.

Well he has been climbing into his crib for a good month, but the drop from in to out I think had him a little nervous. I am shocked by this. Brigs is my wild child. Into and on everything. A million miles a minute. A daredevil. I assumed he would climb out just about as soon as I decided to invest in two cribs. However 8 months later we were going strong...until yesterday.

I was at Bunco and Phil was putting the kids to bed. He put Brigs down and was in reading with Koen. He heard a load noise and then heard B's door open. He went out in the hall to find B just hanging out. He told him "No climbing" put him back and put the little child handle on his door. Seemed to suffice. Well...when we went up to bed his door was still shut so we figured we had success. Oh no no. While taking Koen potty Phil noticed the aquaphor was on the ground, then on B's door, the toilet, the handle etc. So he snuck in Brigs room to see that the handle had been popped off. Apparently he had a little rendezvous. However after, Brigs had turned off the light, shut the door, climbed back in his crib and was fast asleep. He is wild.

Today I put him in his crib to see how skillful his exit was. And it was. One leg over, then the other, a solid hang and a shimmy down the front. I was still worried about leaving him in the crib or the crib in the room with him climbing in a out at leisure. Luckily we bought him a bedroom set when we moved him out of the nursery. He has had a bed ready and waiting for months. So, for naptime he slept in his big boy bed. This was after I figured out how to get him to stay in there since he can pop a child handle right off, who does that??(don't you love his little face peeking out?) When he woke up I went to work taking down his crib, while I shed a few tears. :) What if that is the last time we use a crib? What if he is my last baby and he is growing up and getting so big. It is too much to think about. Instead I will think about how cute and little he looks in such a big bed. I love him.

He does look so sweet and tiny in a big boy bed. I am so glad he didn't hurt himself getting out of the crib and that he is so skillful. I had a nephew who jumped out and was put in a cast. That is so funny that he took a little excursion on Phil's watch while you were away.

That little face is too much. I must see it soon!

Brigs and Lydia need to be friends. :) I tried the child lock on Lydia's door too She can open it right up. I love hearing about the crazy things Brigs does. He is adorable!
