BEST!

This is about the best thing I could have ever read today. Literally.

“The adversary uses despair to bind hearts and minds in suffocating darkness. Despair drains from us all that is vibrant and joyful and leaves behind the empty remnants of what life was meant to be. Despair kills ambition, advances sickness, pollutes the soul, and deadens the heart. Despair can seem like a staircase that leads only and forever downward.
Hope, on the other hand, is like the beam of sunlight rising up and above the horizon of our present circumstances. It pierces the darkness with a brilliant dawn. It encourages and inspires us to place our trust in the loving care of an eternal Heavenly Father, who has prepared a way for those who seek for eternal truth in a world of relativism, confusion, and of fear.” -President Uchtdorf
I literally asked Phil yesterday what the opposite of Hope was because that is how I was feeling. The part I bolded is my favorite. That is what I need to do. I just wish that sometimes there could be just one path that was good and you could just know what it was. Not like good, better, best. I just want to know what we should do. The problem is, I doubt that the answer will be that clear. Hopefully we can feel like we can make the best decisions for us and find comfort in whatever that decision may be.

I have no doubt that you will know what is best for you. God does not leave us alone to make such big decisions. He is our Father and ultimately wants what is best for us.

You posted this at the most perfect time. Jed has an interview in 8 minutes and after so many disappointments I am just praying this will work out. But if not there is the hope of something better.

I love your blog so much. Even though I know that you are writing for yourself so you can remember what you have learned but just so you know you help and encourage so many of us all along the way. Knowing you is a blessing. I am thankful you are my friend.

Hi Alesha. It's Brynn. I ran across your blog from Lindsay's. Your family is darling. Thank you for being so encouraging and teaching us all how to handle lifes trials and tribulations with a smile and a positive outlook. Thank you for teaching me to not take the little things for granted. I have thought about you often (daily) since I started reading. You are a great example to many!!!! Brynn (Blanchard) Winn.

I love that. I have been trying to cling to hope this month. The holidays are rough and it is easy to let the despair over take you with our limited view of the big picture. If I can just cling to hope and trust Heavenly Father though, I know He will take care of us.
